Mr. Peanut Butter Cup

Being a mommy of two little ones isn't easy, and sometimes I just have to take a deep breath and soak in the craziness, because I know everything is going to be OK. Cove is 8-months old already, so when Morgan was at play-school today, I took the time to snap up his sweetness.

I feel so blessed to have a boy, a boy to love and hopefully instil many good values in. My only wish is that he grows to be a healthy, grounded, and generous man who doesn't mind still spending time with his mama, maybe even loves it once in awhile...that would be nice. For now, he spends all his time with me, so this mama is lapping it up.

Here he is, in all his 8-month glory. Gotta do this while I can, right.

Loving him...

I love you my sweet Cove.

ps. If Morgan's my Little Miss Cupcake Sugarpants,
than your my Mr. Peanut Butter Cup.

Pupcakes

When I was a little girl, my mom and I spent a lot of time baking together. I loved helping her mix in the ingredients and of course eating every little morsel that we made, but best of all...the batter. Still can't pull myself away from the the most delicious treat in the whole wide world. Oh batter, you and me go way back. What a love affair...

Morgan loves to bake, especially cupcakes, which she refers to as 'pupcakes'. I don't even bother correcting her, its just too cute. But if we baked pupcakes as much as she'd like, we'd both be rollie pollies in no time. So instead, we're on to muffins and other healthy nibbles and bits. But, you've caught us here baking peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, chewy and so delicious.

I should really consider changing this blog's name to, 'Little Miss Pupcake Sugarpants'.

Happy boy.
I might have given him a little taste of batter too!

I hope I've inspired you to get your Martha on and do some yummy baking. I like to substitute white flour for whole wheat flour and sugar for agave syrup. Still tastes delish and a bit more guilt-free. What are your favourite yummies to bake these days? Any healthy substituting you swear by? Would love to hear your baking must do's! Share away.

Happy day, beauties. xo

The Spaces Between Madness

Just a few pictures to catch you up on what's been happening in our home for the last few weeks. These kids are growing up...and its just such pleasure to be their mommy. We've been busy and still recouping from the madness of 2011, feels like 2012 is a year of catch up...both of us burning the candle at both ends. I truly feel we are channeling our energy into places that we love and are worthwhile. Both of us are radiating with creativity, which is amazing, considering how tired we are. Our businesses, growing. His- two and a half years in, and mine- 4 months in.

As much as I wish Brydon and I had more time together, just the two of us, I love the moments we steal in the hallway, or finally snuggled into bed. Just the small flashes of time when the kids are content, and we have a second to say hello, like a real hello. Acknowledge each other's hard work, our commitment to creating a life we love, and yet still being present to what we have now...enjoying the current harvest. Maybe its just a squeeze, a smile, but there's that connection that keeps us tight. As two people in-love and doing our best to juggle this crazy world, streamline it all into something wonderful- it's a challenge, but its everything. Grateful.

What a life...what a life.
